Safe Teen New Mexico has produced “Smashed: Teen Brains and Alcohol,” a prevention documentary showing the effects alcohol has on teen brains and what teens, parents, and communities can do to stop the alcohol assault on teen brains. The Alcohol Literacy Challenge™ has recently been reviewed by NREPP (SAMSHA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices). It scored very high ratings. The program received 3.3 (out of 4 points) on the quality of research proving the effectiveness of the curriculum for reducing underage and binge drinking. The curriculum also was rated 3.5 out of 4 points on it’s readiness for dissemination.
